TEAM Susquehanna Township – Capital Rebirth Flag Football Champions

Capital Rebirth held their second “Alumni Flag Football Tournament” yesterday at City Islands Sports Complex. Harrisburg defeated Central Dauphin East in the first game of the day followed by Susquehanna Twp putting a spanking on McDevitt winning 21-6.

The games featured former standout athletes including Bishop McDevitt’s Jameel Poteat and Salaath Williams; Harrisburg High’s Mikell Simpson and Hanif Johnson; Susquehanna TWP’s Ben Dupree & Ray Wagner just to name a few.

Harrisburg shouldn’t feel bad about letting Susquehanna’s QB Ray Wagner treat them like amateurs. Wagner may seem like he came out of no where but he didn’t.

In 2011 Wagner became the first player in PSAC history to throw for more than 500 yards in back-to-back games. After tossing for 522 yards against Kutztown the former Susquehanna Twp. High School standout racked up 503 yards through the air the following week in a 34-30 victory over C.W. Post.

Susquehanna TWP proved to be too much for the Harrisburg Cougars as their passing game was able to move up and down the field at will. The Cougars were able to make key defensive stops in the red zone to hold the Indians offense to only two touchdowns. The final score was Susquehanna TWP – 15 Harrisburg High – O.
